The Covid-19 crisis decimated our creative industries and Drystone was formed in response to that; to build and rebuild our arts. Now, one year on from the first lockdown, The Mick Peat Drystone Bursary – created in tribute to one of Drystone’s founders – is open to anyone who wants to help make that happen.
Drystone welcomes all forms of creativity, and there are no limits on how you identify your creative work. Examples could be music, dance, theatre, poetry, painting, textiles, photography, filmmaking, ceramics, dry stone walling – but do not be constrained by these – add your own! The bursary is open to single or group applicants, and we may also offer mentoring in certain disciplines. We want to offer as much help as we can - sustaining the legacy of a genuinely great man whose life was dedicated to bringing people together.
Mick would have been daunted by too many questions and too many boxes to tick so we have tried to make the application process as simple and accessible as possible. Visit www.drystone.co/mick-peat-bursary to find out more and apply.
Subject to Covid-19 restrictions and the chance for us to gather again, the Bursary Award will be presented on The Mick Peat Stage at Derby Folk Festival 2021 on October 2nd.
Applications to the bursary close on August 31st, 2021.
